DREADMOOR Trading Guide – Fish Prices, Selling & What to Buy
Last updated: 2026-11-03 · Verified against game version Demo (Oct 2026)
How trading works in DREADMOOR: fish values per kilogram, when to sell vs process your catch, and the shop items that matter — the Carburetor and Torn Pages.

Quick Guide — Key Takeaways
- Sell catches to Gill and Bozur at Betsy and Sons; fish are valued per kilogram.
- Never sell contract fish — 5 Snappers, 3 Softgrazers and 3 Harpooners are deliveries.
- Softgrazers and Sharpfins are worth more processed (Chromatic Scales, Sharpfin Flesh) than sold.
- The two shop purchases that matter: the Carburetor (50) and Torn Pages (200 each).
- The Carburetor listing unlocks only after delivering three Harpooners.
Your catch is your income — but in DREADMOOR, the smart money is not always the sale. This guide covers fish values, the sell-vs-process decision, and the two shop purchases that gate your boat.
Fish Values
Fish sell per kilogram at Betsy and Sons, so heavier specimens pay more. Value tiers from the demo data:
| Tier | Value | Examples |
|---|---|---|
| Common early fish | 1/kg | Bellybulge, Cryptmaw, Rammfish |
| Snapper | 4/kg | The first contract fish |
| Mid predators | 7/kg | Bully, Gleamer, Harpooner, Harpy |
| Softgrazer | 8/kg | Better processed than sold |
| Deep-water predators | 12/kg | Bloodgill, Greasechar |
| Sharpfin | 16/kg | The top of the ledger |
The full per-species table is in the fish list.
Sell or Process?
The Grinder and Thresher turn fish into materials money cannot shortcut:
- Softgrazer → Chromatic Scales — hull protection, Rainbow Fin, Sturdy Earcrawler and the Spotlight all want scales. Process first, sell overflow.
- Sharpfin → Sharpfin Flesh — the Deadly Tick bait chain. A 16/kg sale is tempting; the flesh is rarer.
- Predators → Jaws — Flaming Belly and two tool upgrades compete for them.
- Everything else — grinding any fish makes Fish Meat, which feeds bait recipes and the Fuel Larva.
And the rule that overrides every calculation: contract fish are never sold. Deliver them whole.
What to Buy
- Carburetor (50) — unlocks after the three-Harpooner delivery; required for the Upgraded Engine. The delivery only opens the listing — you still have to buy it.
- Torn Pages (200 each) — research currency, sold by traders when you are short of exploration finds. Buy only after funding the main-quest blueprints.
FAQ
Where do I sell fish in DREADMOOR?
At Betsy and Sons, the trading post run by Gill and Bozur. Fish sell per kilogram, so heavier class specimens pay more.
Which fish should I sell and which should I process?
Sell standard catches with no processing chain. Process Softgrazers into Chromatic Scales and Sharpfins into Sharpfin Flesh — both materials gate recipes that money cannot shortcut. Predators can be processed into Jaws for tool and bait recipes.
How do I get the Carburetor?
Deliver three Harpooners to Gill and Bozur, then open the shop and buy it for 50. The delivery unlocks the listing; it does not place the part in your inventory.
